Punch needle gripper frame - Craft supplies

I adore punch needle, and now and again over the time I’ve been doing it I’ve been asked where I get supplies from/what are the best ones to use. For a long time I recommended other small businesses which is great as I love to support others, but after a while I thought, why aren’t I selling them myself?! So that’s why we’re here now!

Gripper frames are the perfect addition to any punch needle journey, helping to keep the material smooth and taut, and giving you more space to punch on in one go, compared to using an embroidery hoop for one project at a time.

I have used both an embroidery hoop and a gripper frame to punch on, and once I used the frame I’ve never looked back! It makes the whole process easier, quicker, and much more enjoyable overall!

We offer gripper frames in two sizes, all sides of each frame being the same size as the rest, so resulting in a square frame. The sizings may seem random, but that’s just how we cut them to make the best use of the lengths our wood is supplied to us in. The dimensions are as follows.

Small- 18cm inside space. This is the space inside the frame you’ll have to work on. 23.5cm with grippers. This is measured once the grippers are attached, so is the size of the finished frame.

Large - 31cm inside space. This is the space inside the frame you’ll have to work on. 36.5cm with grippers. This is measured once the grippers are attached, so is the size of the finished frame.

All frames come fully assembled, and with their own fleece covers to match the frame size chosen. The covers help protect your hands from the grippers. They get super sharp so please be careful! The fleece covers we provide have been made by a fellow small business, Sashcrafters keepsakes, who we have collaborated with, and are totally unique to Posy Moon! Colours for the covers differ at the moment depending on stock our partner has, so will be sent at random.
