Punch needle kit, small frame option - Starter kit - Craft supplies

I adore punch needle, and now and again over the time I’ve been doing it I’ve been asked where I get supplies from/what are the best ones to use. For a long time I recommended other small businesses which is great as I love to support others, but after a while I thought, why aren’t I selling them myself?! So that’s why we’re here now!

Whether you’ve already tried punch needling and just fancy trying a kit for once, or you’re a complete novice and just want to give the craft a go, the kits we offer come with everything you need to create a finished mug rug, which will be about 11-12cms in size! Perfect for either big or small mugs :)

The contents of the kit are:

Adjustable punch needle

Cotton yarn balls

Iron on template/s

Small gripper frame (Read below for size details)

Linen material for punching on

Felt to back the mug rug

Drawstring bag to store all contents in

You’ll also need scissors and PVA glue to finish your project. A hot glue gun is also advised, but not essential.

You are able to choose mug rug templates from 10 designs. Whether you order 1 or 10, the choice is yours, and you are able to select your yarn colours too. Each template comes with three colours, so the more templates you buy, the more yarn you can also get.

First select how many templates and yarn balls you would like from the list. Next, take a look at the template photos and yarn photos, make your choices, and input your selections into the options box.

All sides of each gripper frame are the same size as the rest, so resulting in a square frame. The sizings may seem random, but that’s just how we cut them to make the best use of the lengths our wood is supplied to us in. The dimensions of the one in this kit are as follows.

Small- 18cm inside space. This is the space inside the frame you’ll have to work on. 23.5cm with grippers. This is measured once the grippers are attached, so is the size of the finished frame.

All frames come fully assembled, and with their own fleece covers to match the frame size chosen. The covers help protect your hands from the grippers. They get super sharp so please be careful! The fleece covers we provide have been made by a fellow small business, Sashcrafters keepsakes, who we have collaborated with, and are totally unique to Posy Moon! Colours for the covers differ at the moment depending on stock our partner has, so will be sent at random.
